Piqastrophe!!

Sooooo last night in Barcelona's 4-0 win against Rayo Vallecano, Pique picked up his 5th yellow card this season. Now you may be thinking, okay another yellow, he misses the next match, gets a clean slate after and all is good!! BUT!!! The next match for Barcelona is against Levante, which Pique would be unable to play in...the  match after that however is none other than the Holy Grail of football games, the El Clasico. Real Madrid v. Barcelona!!

Pique would enter into this game having a full clean slate, no yellow cards to his name. Looking at last nights match we can see that Pique picked up a yellow for deliberate time wasting (he took 20 seconds to take a defensive kick)

Now I don't want to jump to conclusions, there may be a rational explanation as to why Pique took sooooooo long to take his kick. He was bedazzled by the image of Shakira shaking her hips maybe?? But it seems to me and I'm sure many others that this was a deliberate attempt to gain a yellow, in order to avoid missing the El Clasico match.

Barcelona who many like to believe never dive *cough* Busquets *cough* and ALWAYSSS play by the rules, may find themselves in hot water due to the new Royal Spanish Football Federation Code Disciplinary Code 2011. (Article 112)

“Any player, who during the course of a game, provokes a fifth booking may be sanctioned with, in addition to the penalty provided for in the first paragraph of this article [a standard one-game ban], an extra one-game suspension and fined the amount of 600 euros. In determining the intent of the player, circumstances will be taken into account such as the nature of the breaching of the game rules and the attitude of the player during the match.”

As a Madridsta...I find this all very amusing :)
I apologise if I have come across as extremely biased and a touch evil in this post :)

Silent...Mourinho Is Speaking

"We're not training much at the moment because we've only got five men available. A league stoppage is more than enough for me because I like to play every week. I lack something when I don't play a game."
"The 2/3 April stoppage is something the League Federation and the clubs have to sort out. We professionals will do whatever needs to be done, knowing we have to play 38 games with or without a stoppage. We await the final decision without much excitement."

"We knew Cristiano Ronaldo's trip to Portugal was just so that his national coach and the medical staff over there could check the tests he underwent in Madrid, which were very clear. I hope he recovers in time for our game against Tottenham Hotspur. Judging from the mentality he has we believe he will make it, but it will be tight. A return like the one he had against Lyon to help the team will always be welcome."

"Gonzalo Higuain played a practice game for the first time today. I used players from Castilla in order to have two sides of eleven players each. He played 60 minutes divided in two 30 minute halves. He's not fit yet, obviously, but he's walking. I don't know if he'll be ready to face Sporting, but he'll be ready soon if not. We would welcome his return. It will be important to have him in order to face the many games we have yet to play until the end of the season."

"I've never hidden my desire to return to England some day, but there are three more years left on my contract and I intend to see them through and to work hard to make the Board, the fans and the players happy. If I manage to do this I will see those three remaining years through and maybe even carry on with a new contract. I currently feel everyone is happy with the job we're doing. Real Madrid is my near future."

Let all us Real Madrid fans pray for a easy return for Higuain. It has been tooooo long without him and I know he will come back and unleash his awesomeness on the pitch very very soon. We love you Gonzalo :)

I think it is wonderful that fans and players from so many different teams can come together like this and unite to provide strength for someone.

Eric Abidal has been diagnosed with a tumour in his liver. I pray for him and I know all you readers will as well.

Animo Abidal

Kaka Injury Update

Realmadrid.com
Following Real Madrid's 26 February match against Deportivo Coruña, Kaka felt pain on the exterior of his left knee and subsequently an X-ray diagnosis was performed to evaluate the extent of the injury.
Following a complete evaluation including an MRI, which was compared to previous studies on the player, a slight edema on the exterior of his left knee was detected and diagnosed as Iliotibial band syndrome. Treatment includes fitness work in the gymnasium and on the pitch, as well as complementary physiotherapy. The player is expected to miss 15 days and his progress will be monitored.

Get well soon Kaka. We love and miss you :) Your in our hearts...

Iker Casillas Hangs Up His Gloves...

At least for the next game :p Iker Casillas made history at Real Madrid and not in good way. He has secured the fastest sending off ever in the history of the club...and for a goalkeeper, thats impressive.

Although I'll miss you Iker (he's banned from the next match), I'm sure you have given Adan some secret goalkeeping tips that he will use to defend our goals and slay the opponents...

Hail San Iker and San Adan!!

Real Madrid v Real Sociedad

As you probally know...I'm a die hard Real Madrid fan, so if your new to following my blog, expect a blog update every time they play :)

So here's what went down...

Real Madrid had to win this game, to keep the pressure on Barcelona who are 7 points ahead in the La Liga table and boy did they win good tonight. Kaka proved that he is back on track, with an early goal 8 minutes in. This is Kaka's 2nd goal of the season and I hope there is going to be a lot, lot more from him, he's an amazing player and now seems to be  leaving his injury behind him, I wish him all the best.

Not one to be outshone Cristiano Ronaldo scored a fantastic strike 21 minutes into the game and then scored a brilliant header in the 42nd minute. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are now joint in La Liga for goals, with 24 a piece.

Things were going so well that Real Madrid decided to score a goal for Real Sociedad. Casillas saved it but the ball then struck of Arbeloa and went into the back of the net to make it 3-1. But like I said, Arbeloa was feeling sorry for Real Sociedad. We sooooo meant it :p

Adebayor scored the final goal for Real Madrid to make the score 4-1 at the end. This is Adebayor's 2nd goal so far for the whites and he seems to be playing pretty damn good. Keep up the good work boy ;)

So yeah we won!! WooHoo!! Celebration time :)

Real Madrid v Barcelona - Copa Del Rey Final

Guess who is one very happy person right now...no, well it's me. My team, the best damn team in the world (and shut it Barca fans, readers you should know by know who I support) are through to the final of the Copa Del Rey. This will be the first Madrid Barcelona cup final in over 20 years and not only that but both teams will play each other twice within 4 days. In La Liga (17 April) and Copa Del Rey (20 April). So you can guarantee it will be a tense but exciting week for sure.

So for those of you who didn't see the game here's what went down...

Real Madrid came into the 2nd leg of thier Copa Del Rey match against Sevilla with an advantage, having previously scored away to secure a 1-0 victory in the 1st leg. It was very important for them to win tonight to book a place in the final. It was a goaless first half, with chances from Benzema and Ronaldo and only really kicked into action in the second half. Ozil scored a fantastic goal in the 81st minute and straight away ran to the stands to celebrate with the fans. New boy on the block Adebayor scored his first goal for Real Madrid in injury time and a good cross from Lass and boy is he getting presents tonight (*wink wink*). The team practically had an orgy on the pitch with him, mind you I would've too.

So there you have it, we are in the final and I couldn't be happier. Well done boys and HALA MADRID

“We had to eliminate two finalists of last year, Atletico and Sevilla, and we deserve to be fighting for this title. It will be a very beautiful and exciting final. We have a thorn in the competition, but it will not be easy to win”

Iker Casillas
