Steven Gerrard Is Heart Broken!

Stevie G expresses his heartbreak over Fenando Torres's departure :(

I'm here Stevie if you want a hug or cup of cocoa :)

"I was heartbroken. Absolutely gutted. But I also called him after he left," Gerrard said.

"There are no hard feelings. I built up a relationship with Fernando and became his friend. He scored some fantastic goals and I have fantastic memories. I enjoyed playing with him. So you can't go from one extreme to another and fall out with him, start criticising him.

"But he will also understand how I feel. Fernando is a bright person and he will understand that the Liverpool fans are upset as well.

"The football club is much happier now. It's in a better place than it has been for a few years. We've got new owners, who I've spoken to quite a lot, who are passionate about what they want to do.
"I trust them, I trust them even more after what's happened in the last week or so. And the way they've acted, coming towards the end of the transfer window, has impressed me. I was a bit wary at first because I was maybe a bit guilty of trusting the previous owners too much.

"This time I've taken a bit more time in judging them. But they've been brilliant so far. They have put the club back in a good place already and the last three or four weeks have been really positive. We've had some good results. The lads are smiling again. I've actually enjoyed going to work again."

Gerrard also admits the return of Kenny Dalglish to the manager's seat at Anfield has been instrumental in the recent revival in fortunes.

"First and foremost, he's a good person," he said. "He's helped me throughout my career. The advice he has given me, even before coming back as manager. He's always had time for me. Cared for me. I know how much he wanted this job and I'm just glad he got what he wanted.

'I feel he can take the club forward. As everyone knows, it's a results business. But so far, so good, and I'd love him to get the contract extended.

'He's brought everything together. Growing up, my experience of Liverpool was that you don't hang out your dirty washing in public. For the last couple of years there's been a lot of bad press. Non-stop.

'That's not the way we want the club to be run. But Kenny's come in and he's lifted the fans and the players. I think you can see that in the determination they have shown in the last few games. The players are certainly playing for Kenny.'

Wow Oh Wow Carly Cole!!

Carly Cole, wife of Liverpool player Joe Cole was at the Harvey Nichols fashion show in Manchester. Boy is she looking fineeeee! This is a totally different Carly than I'm used to seeing, I mean she's always been hot but damn this girl could turn me lesbian ;) Looking good Carly!!

Fernando Torres - Debut From Hell

Who know's what is going on in Fernando Torres's head right about now, but I imagine it will be something like this ......FUCKSHITGRRRRRRGODDAMMIT.....

Torres's new team Chelsea were beat at home today against his former club Liverpool. Raul Meireles scored the only goal in the 1-0 game in the 69th minute and Torres was subsituted in the 66th minute.

He played okay not an awesome performance, but after the week he's had I wouldn't expect more.

This is what Chelsea manager Ancelotti had to say about Fernado's performance,

'The problem wasn't that Torres played, Liverpool defended very well. Fernando used his movement and did a good job. Give him time to adjust. I took him off because it has been a very busy week.'

Luiz Suarez Liverpool Debut

Liverpool's new kid on the block made a stunning debut tonight, with a goal after playing for just 16 minutes. Some say it was an own goal from Stoke's Wilkinson but others say it was going in that direction anyway. Whatever the case Liverpool manager Daglish has credited Suarez with the goal. A goal from Meireles made it 2-0 to Liverpool against Stoke, keeping them 7th in the league table.

Congratulations Suarez :)

Oh and Andy Carroll also made an appearence, however did not play as he is not up to the required fitness standards yet :( But don;t worry i'm sure he'll be playing in no time. Dosen't he look good in a suit, no???

Fernando Torres Transfer Request Rejected.

Liverpool Football Club issued this statement today,

"Fernando Torres tonight submitted a written transfer request, which has been rejected by Liverpool."
"Fernando is under a long-term contract and the Club expects him to honour the commitment he made to Liverpool FC and its supporters when he signed the agreement."

Chelsea FC made a bid for Torres in the summer but it was rejected, Torres sought assuarnces that he would be able to leave the club in the future should an acceptable bid be made or he considers a move necessary. However these issues were discussed with manager Christian Purslow, who has now left the club and no legal clause was signed.

I really like Liverpool and think that they are a good club, also I am a huge fan of Fernando Torres. My opinion is if a player is unhappy at a club and wishes to leave, the club should respect his wishes and do everything possible to make it happen. I don;t think it's good at all for a player to be unhappy at the club he is at. But lets give this Torres thing some time and see what happens, I wish him all the best though.

Congratulations Liverpool!!

After a crazy half season for Liverpool, with more downs than ups. It finally seems like the Reds are finding there feet again. With a 3-0 win in thier last game and now a 1-0 win courtesy of an own goal by John Pantsil of Fulham, Liverpool are now 7th in the Premier League Table. Hopefully things are only up from here, but then again this is football...you never know.

Enjoy some photo's of the own goal tonight and celebrations afterwards...

Joey Barton - Homophobic??

So Liverpool lost 3-1 to Newcastle over the weekend. People have been saying Fernando Torres was distracted and not up to scratch...um, you do know he just had a kid right??

Anyway it appears that Joey Barton of Newcastle United was being a tad hmmm how do we put this...rude, disgusting, a jerk maybe!! He apparantly made obscene gestures and homophobic remarks to Fernando Torres. Grabbing his crotch, calling him a 'fucking poof' and telling him to 'suck it'.

Now if it's one thing I hate and I mean HATE, is people being homophobic, no I am not gay, but I see nothing wrong with it and fully disapprove of anyone being homophobic. You might say it was just a bit of harmless banter, but coming from a footballer I think it is way out of line. For a while now, people have been fighting to make gayness in football acceptable. Whilst a lot of football fans see nothing wrong with it, there are still those who don't condone it. It is a touchy subject and one that has sparked a lot of debates over the past few years.
It may have been just a bit of harmless banter to Joey Barton, but imagine someone who was gay watched that match, imagine how they would feel.
The FA are supposedly going to investigate this and I hope they do charge Joey Barton. Homophobia in football needs to be stamped out.

Thoughts??

Premier League Round Up

Arsenal 2-3 Tottenham Hotspur

This is our kind of football game... comeback kings. Tottenham were two goals down thanks to Sami Nasri and Marouane Chamakh. However Gareth Bale scored quick into the first half, with Rafael van der Vaart scoring a penalty, thanks to a handball from Cesc Fabregas to equalise the scores. Younes Kaboul then scored the third and final goal of the game to give Tottenham three points and stop Arsenal taking the lead at the top of the premier league….Sorry Arsenal, but you just weren’t good enough today, better luck next time.

Manchester United 2-0 Wigan

Wayne Rooney returned tonight after an absence due to injury, receiving a standing ovation, however he came on as a sub and didn’t score. We’re still a little bit mad at Wayne because…well you know the whole sleeping with prostitutes whilst your wife is pregnant thing, but if Coleen can forgive him, we’re willing to try too. So we hope he starts scoring again soon. Goals were from Patrice Evra and Javier Hernandez. Manchester United are now joint leaders with Chelsea at the top of the Premier League.

Birmingham 1-0 Chelsea

Leaders of the Premier League Chelsea were beaten by Birmingham City, the not so leaders of the premier league…sorry Birmingham fans. Lee Bowyer scored the only goal of the game and whilst Chelsea had eight shots on target this game whilst Birmingham only had one, Chelsea just couldn’t get a goal. Due to the loss today, Chelsea is now joint at the top of the Premier League with Manchester United. Sucks to be you Chelsea.

Liverpool 3-0 West Ham

Liverpool looks to be on the way up with a good win over West Ham. The boys in red scored 3 against bottom of the table West Ham. Glen Johnson, Maxi Rodriguez and Dirk Kuyt all scored, with Kuyt scoring on a penalty. Liverpool fans weren’t that nice to West Ham’s boss, chanting “you’re getting sacked in the morning” …..harsh. Steven Gerrard watched from the bench and while be doing so for the next month whilst he recovers from a hamstring tear. We’ve always had a soft spot for Liverpool and are glad they’re back to winning their games. Get well soon Stevie

Alex Gerrard Double Lines and Thigh High Boots

Alex Gerrard was see and out and about in Liverpool, the first parked on a double yellow line...pffttt with that car who cares. She was sporting thigh high boots, a blazer and a leopard print scarf, looking every inch stylish (we're jealous). The second at a supermarket still in her gym clothes and smiling towards the camera...well if we had a car...and a body like that we'd be smiling too.

Well Alex G has made us want to eat healthy today, lets hope we actually do it for once. Bear in mind there's chocolate truffles in the house =O
